Data Science Research Intern, University of Hawaii at Manoa - CTAHR

  • Developed a script in R to determine harvest readiness of plants, enhancing agricultural data collection efficiency.
  • Conducted extensive data cleaning and pooling in R to prepare large agricultural datasets for machine learning analysis, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of subsequent research findings.
  • Presented findings using data visualization techniques in R during a poster presentation, effectively communicating results to a broader scientific audience.

2024 - 2024

AI Research Assistant, University of Hawaii at Hilo

Conducted research in the field of human-in-the-loop machine learning.

  • Worked closely with the Data Science Program Coordinator at the university, Dr. Travis Mandel, to develop a user interface employing an active learning model with a Human-In-The-Loop system.
  • Engineered an evaluator to measure AI-assisted efficiency gains in the human annotation of invasive species of ecology on Hawaii Island.
  • Utilized Python data visualization techniques to graphically represent the data from the evaluator which captured the decrease in time that the human spent on each image and time spent doing various annotation actions.
